The Practice

New Jersey Pain Management was founded in 1996 by Dr. Philip Rubinfeld.  His goal was to establish excellence in the field of interventional pain medicine by providing the latest treatment options and offering the most advanced techniques to diagnose and treat patients who suffer from painful conditions.

As many as one in three people suffers from some form of chronic pain, including low back pain, sciatica, neck and arm pain, herniated discs, reflex sympathetic dystrophy and other painful conditions.  We are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of pain, with an emphasis on the treatment of pain through the use of interventional procedures.  We offer patients access to the latest interventional procedures available including epidural steroid injections, discography, radio frequency lesioning, zygapophyseal (facet) joint injections, disc nucleoplasty, selective nerve root blocks, and spinal cord stimulator placement.

Patients are evaluated and then offered the very best treatment options for their specific condition.  Our patients work with the health care providers at New Jersey Pain Management to develop a treatment plan that will best address their specific problem.  The goal for each of our patients is to decrease pain and increase function, allowing our patients to get back to living their lives and doing things that are important to them without pain standing in their way.

You can learn more about the treatments offered at New Jersey Pain Management by browsing our website and specifically on our Services page.

    • Clear and accurate prescriptions - ensures that the pharmacist will be certain of the medication and dosage that you need
    • Secure medical record - keeps your medical information absolutely confidential
    • Rapid communication with other providers regarding your care

Using Technology to Treat Pain

Dr. Philip Rubinfeld, Medical Director of New Jersey Pain Management, uses the latest technology available to diagnose and treat pain and related disorders. Interventional techniques are frequently employed to treat chronic intractable pain, independently or in conjunction with other modalities of treatment.

There are many types of pain problems that can benefit from the interventional techniques offered at New Jersey Pain Management.  These include acute and chronic low back pain, sciatica, herniated discs, neck pain, facet joint pain, post-surgical failed back syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome or reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), pelvic pain, abdominal pain, post-herpetic neuralgia, fibromyalgia, headache, and painful conditions resulting from disease or injury.

Spinal Solutions to Pain Problems

Dr. Rubinfeld focuses on precisely diagnosing the origins of pain and then directing treatment to that origin.  Many types of painful conditions have their origins in the spine, so many of the procedures are directed to the spine.

Some of the procedures and treatments that are offered at New Jersey Pain Management are:
